Safer streets
People deserve visible policing, faster response times and a serious approach to low-level crime, antisocial behaviour and public safety. No community should be told to simply accept decline as normal.
I am seeking nomination as an Independent candidate in the Clacton by-election because I believe this election matters beyond normal party politics.
This by-election has become a spectacle. There is satire, protest, personality politics and national attention. I understand why people are treating it like a farce. It started as one but doesn't have to end that way.
The consequences are not a joke.
If Nigel Farage walks back into Parliament because everyone else treats the election as theatre, nothing changes. Except he gains momentum. Satire has a place. Protest has a place. But serious opposition has to have a place too.
I am standing to make a serious argument for a better direction: a fair, strong and responsible Britain.
People deserve visible policing, faster response times and a serious approach to low-level crime, antisocial behaviour and public safety. No community should be told to simply accept decline as normal.
Access to GPs, dentists and mental health support should be measured in days, not impossible waiting times. A constituency is only as strong as the health and dignity of the people living in it.
Local businesses should be supported, not punished. Empty units, impossible rents, unfair rates and neglected town centres damage local pride and local opportunity.
Coastal communities need proper jobs, real wages, training routes and opportunities for young people who should not have to leave the area to build a future.
Clean water, protected beaches and proper coastal infrastructure matter. The seafront should be treated as an asset for residents, visitors, businesses and future generations.
Representation should mean presence, accessibility and accountability. People should know how to reach their MP and should be able to judge them by whether they actually show up.
Britain needs a new standard of leadership. I want to see Leadership, Responsibility and Ethics introduced into the national curriculum from Years 4–9, with an optional GCSE.
Young people should learn how to think clearly, debate honestly, understand consequences, act with integrity, handle disagreement, take responsibility and contribute to society.
I am pro-European. Brexit damaged Britain's economy, influence and international relationships. I believe we should rebuild mature, practical ties with Europe on trade, security, science, culture, education and opportunity.
This does not mean reliving the referendum forever. It means being honest about what has happened and rebuilding Britain's future with our nearest allies.
Britain must be capable of defending itself and supporting its allies. I support stronger defence foundations, better resources for UK forces, stronger support for serving personnel and veterans, and deeper cooperation with NATO and European partners.
People are being squeezed by the cost of everyday life. I want stronger scrutiny of big companies, including supermarket chains, where pricing, supply chains or market power make basic living more expensive.
Britain needs affordable, quality food, fair competition and better support for local and independent businesses.
I oppose unregulated AI systems that exploit human creativity, replace human judgement or use artists' work without consent or compensation.
Technology should support people, not erase them. Britain should protect writers, musicians, artists, performers, designers and creative workers from being mined and replaced by systems built on their labour.
How a country treats animals says something about its moral character. I support stronger animal welfare protections, tougher enforcement against cruelty, higher standards in farming and food production, and better education around responsibility towards animals.
Britain's land, rivers, beaches and air should not be treated as dumping grounds. Organisations that profit while damaging the environment should face real consequences.
Clean water, protected coastlines and healthy communities are not luxuries. They are basic responsibilities.
This campaign is about responsibility.
Britain does not need more theatre.
It needs leadership that is fair, powerful, ethical and serious.
